We would like to introduce our new Data Security Plans that go into effect with the release of the next version of our software.
The introduction of GDPR brought an increased focus on data protection and security, a focus with requirements for which we have adapted our system.
Our Data Security Plans incorporate different levels of automation, and consist of the following functionalities:
Please note that when a customer updates to the new version, their system will set to Level 1 by default, leaving it up to users whether they subscribe to higher levels through the Marketplace.
This level includes one (1) Backup per day which is stored within the server directory (as per backup path setup). Each day, the previous day’s Backup will be overwritten and replaced by the latest, current day’s Backup. Additional Backups can be created manually, but the server will save only the latest Backup created. Customers with this level can still manually action a Database Copy.
This includes Level 1 functionalities, as well as Remote Backup storage in HansaWorld's cloud environment. Remote Backups include one (1) Backup per day for the current week, as well as one (1) Backup per week for the previous three (3) weeks. In total, Level 2 provides one (1) local Backup in addition to ten (10) Remote Backups. Additional Backups can be created manually, but the server will only save the latest Backups. Customers with this level can still manually action a Database Copy.
Level 3 includes Remote Backups, Automated Database Copying, Parallelity, and additional backup storage in HansaWorld's cloud environment. With this level, there is a maximum of two (2) Automated Database Copies per day, with the latest being stored in the respective local server directory. Remote Backups include one (1) Backup per day for the current week, one (1) Backup per week for the previous fifty-one (51) weeks (i.e. 52 weeks in a year), and one (1) Backup per month for the previous four (4) years. Level 3 also includes Parallelity which allows for a Backup to be manually actioned at any time without disrupting work activity.
This includes Level 3 functionalities, as well as Journaling. With Journaling, the server will write all entries created to a file after the database copy has completed. If there is a problem with the Live Database, this file can be applied to the Database Copy File to avoid almost any loss of data.
New feature coming soon: Reserve System. This will be explained in more detail in the future.
